Canadian Ultrasound Institute is pleased to offer the NACC PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER Hybrid program developed by the National Association of Career Colleges.
Personal Support Workers (PSWs) assist individuals with daily living activities in various settings. Their responsibilities include providing personal care, aiding with mobility, preparing meals, and facilitating social interactions. Beyond physical strength, PSWs must exhibit sensitivity and respect towards those they serve. Their approach and behavior significantly impact the health and well-being of the individuals they support. PSWs are essential front-line professionals in the healthcare sector.
Graduates who excel in the field of personal support work are well-prepared for extended careers in healthcare and long-term care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, retirement communities, group homes, and hospice services. Additionally, personal support workers are qualified to work as independent contractors for private clients and in daycare facilities.
PSW students complete their education within 28 weeks, encompassing both core coursework and practicum experiences, based on a 25-hour weekly schedule.
